Tips for surviving your last month of pregnancy.

Make the transition from mum-to-be to motherhood go smoothly.

The anxiety may be building, and you are unsure of the unknown if this is your first pregnancy.

Make the journey an easier one by preparing a few chores in your last couple of weeks before your baby’s delivery.

  1. Time to Pamper yourself

Sleep is usually difficult in your last couple of weeks as your bump becomes more uncomfortable. Take day naps as much as possible.

Pamper yourself with a massage at a local spa. Or get your partner to give you a soothing massage or a back rub to help you get a more effective sleep.

Think about getting your hair cut, as time will be a premium after your baby arrives to take time out for your little beauty treatments.

2. Meal Preparation

Preparing meals in advance and batch freezing is one of the best ways to become prepared for when your baby arrives.

Not having to shop or even cook your meals will be a huge help. Your loved ones will be only too glad to help by bringing over ready cooked meals, if they do, make sure you freeze these for future use.

3. Shopping

Shop for the essentials that your baby will need as soon as they arrive. Dummies, nappies, bottles, clothes also don’t forget about yourself, breast pads, disposable underwear. Baby toiletries, shampoo, and other necessities. Stock up your pantry with staples and cereals.

4. Your hospital bag.

Pack your hospital bag early. Your baby may want to make an appearance earlier than expected.

See the blog post What to pack in your hospital bag for tips.

5. Your Baby’s Laundry

Babies have sensitive skin and can come out in a rash easily. Therefore, it is a good idea to wash your baby’s clothing before they wear it. This will free the clothing from any awful chemicals and harmful substances.

6. Schedule Baby Announcements

Anticipation will be high amongst your loved ones waiting on the news of your babies arrival. Design a card or emails ahead to send them out to inform all of your new babies name and weight. Your special people will want to know the big news at soon as they canand you wouldn’t want them to miss out on your little one’s entry into the new world. A cute photo of your baby before sending your emails out or better yet, make a mailing list and use an email scheduler for sending them out automatically when the moment’s perfect.

6. Get your camera ready

Get your camera out. Make sure it’s charged.

Load up extra batteries and extra SD cards. Make sure the camera charger is packed in your bag also. You don’t want to miss out on capturing this memorable time in your life.

7. Nesting - Clean your home.

Make a list of the unfinished projects and see what you can tick off.

Sort out the pantry and the bathroom cupboard. Get your home clean, and make it free of stains, dust. This way you won’t feel the need to do it when you come home with your baby.
