NEWBORN BABY KAYLIS1-2.jpg

I love it when parents bring special heirloom items to their baby’s newborn photo session.

Kaylis’ newborn shoot was no exception. His Mum brought along The Korowai cloak to celebrate Kaylis’ Maori heritage and his culture. The Korowai is a garment woven in colourful feathers and steeped in history, tradition and culture. It is symbolic of honour, leadership, warmth and protection of people and the environment.

Kaylis was the perfect model on the day, at 11 days old, he was so chilled and snuggly. I started the session wrapped in The Korowai and finished with images of other shawls that Mum brought along with her.

Newborn photos are such a special milestone in you and your baby’s life.
